Effect of chitosan on propagation of zamiifolia as tropical ornamental indoor plant by leaf cutting

Abstract Zamiifolia (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is an ornamental and perennial medicinal plant, which belongs to Araceae family. This plant holds a prominent place in the economic significance of this particular study aimed examine process root development rhizome production through leaf cuttings zamiifoliain experiment. experiment was conducted as factorial design within completely randomized framework with three replications. Experimental treatments composed chitosan application at levels (0, 250 500 mg L-1), positioning leaflet along main axis mother (apical, middle, basal). After treatments, were subjected four-month rooting period. took growth medium consisting balanced mixture perlite cocopeat mixed volume ratio 1:1. The results exhibited significant effects different concentrations on several parameters, including number, width, number roots, quality leaf. In addition, type cutting demonstrated influence width rhizomes. These that L-1 had positive effect resulted increased roots. Overall, it can be concluded promote zamiifolia by stimulating improving proliferation.
